Omantel training centre which located at CBD area in Ruwi arrange for training courses in coordination with various units and departments of the company providing the employees with necessary training to keep them posted with the latest development in the sector field.
Human Resource Department is in-charge for developing Omani staff professionally & personally, providing courses in coordination with various units & departments of the company. And that’s to impart new approaches to the employees through standing training and further enhance new such approaches. To delegate the employees both in and outside the sultanate to complete their studies.

| Omantel has a very high rate of Omanisation. We have exceeded 90%. Omantel is replacing expatriates with Youth Omanies by training Omanies in institutes inside and outside the country and sending them to Universities for Higher studies to be qualified to replace the expatriates. His Majesty Sultan Qaboos has underlined the growing need for collective efforts to boost Omanisation. From the words of HM, Omantel is giving the opportunity to Youth Omanies to be creative, and be responsible to replace the expatriates in different jobs. |

| The program of the Joint Omanisation
Committe in the Telecom Sector |

The Joint Omanisation Committee in the Telecom Sector pursues its activities in the second phase. The program is to help many Omani ambitious youngsters holding various educational certificates (university, diploma, secondary school certificate) in training and developing their skills then employing them in Omantel or any other companies engaged in the Telecom Sector.
The formation of the joint committee in the telecom sector dates back to April 2002 under the chairmanship of Eng. Mohammed bin Ali Al Wohaibi, Executive President of Omantel with number of members from governmental organizations and companies in the telecom in the country.
The committee classified and took stock of the technical jobs, fixed the required qualification and the training plans (for the first phase of the Omanisation project) for a round 254 trainees in various technical aspects. The phase covered various educational levels including (secondary school, diploma and university certificates holders). The training programs ultimately aims to increase the Omanisation percentage of the technical jobs in the telecom organizations in the private sector.
The graduation ceremony of the 254 trainees was held in a glittering ceremony in January 18th, 2004 under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister of Manpower. The trainees assumed their jobs in the private sector telecom companies including Omantel.
