easily use CPS to connect to the information database of
its international customers as follow |
|
1. Dedicated
Services:
A dedicated connection is a physical one that acts like
a private circuit, but providing switching connections
from the customers’ premises to the network. From the
network the customer can communicate with divers
computers at multiple locations on a regular basis.
Dedicated access is available at speeds up to 64kbps,
dependent on the country.
2. Dial–up Services:
Dial-up customers are generally users whose traffic
requirements are irregular or whose volumes are low.
They are also mobile users, but need to stay in touch.
Two types of dial-up services are available:
A) Asynchronous services are available up to
9600bps, supporting V.24 error correction and
protection.
B) In addition a X.32 compliant synchronous
service is available for customers requiring
international access and X.25 functionality. |
|
Note:
CPS dedicated and dial- up services offer a very broad
range of protocol support. Network resident protocol
support and conversion facilities are widely available
for customer. BT is committed to Open Systems
Interconnection (OSI) which improves connectivity even
further. |
